I grew up on Vietnamese cooking. Its beautiful balance of sweet and salty flavors made eating basically the same few foods over and over again never get old. I wish we could eat my father’s home cooking everyday, but since we live across the country from him, I had to find my own renditions to hold me over.
I’ve recently leaned into a more plant based diet and have been introducing more tofu into my recipes. My biggest issues with tofu is that it tastes like nothing, it’s mushy and it’s hard to get it to soak in flavor. I found a way to add flavor and texture into otherwise bland tofu!

How to get your tofu crispy. That’s right, you heard me crispy tofu. It’s possible. I found the perfect storm is draining, pressing, and baking. I will only bake tofu! I’ve learned that the best heat and time is baking tofu at 400 degrees for 30 minutes flipping half way through. Also, by cubing tofu, it’ll allow it to crisp up evenly and get crips on all 4 sides.
A marinade that actually flavors tofu. I’m all about easy and simple ways to add flavor. This marinade is created with items I always keep in my fridge. I suggest you keep these staples in your fridge and pantry at all times too! This easy Asian marinade only take 15 minutes to flavor tofu. No need to marinade overnight!
